As our Network continues to mature, we want to offer more flexible approaches in how EAs are matched with education institutions. Hubs now have the option to deploy Enterprise Advisers (EAs) more flexibly, providing more project-based support and enabling them to work with more than just one school.
This means that Hubs have the ability to prioritise quality over quantity; ensuring that EA’s with broad skillsets are best utilised across the Hub. More intelligent matching can take place based on the needs of schools within a Hub and the intended outcomes. (Please see list of pre-determined intended outcomes at the end of this article.)
The intend to increase the likelihood of impact and EAs will move from proving more general support to specialist support.
There will be more opportunity for innovation; EAs working in Hubs will have more choice on how they work, supporting shorter term projects, or possible pooling.
Please note: By pooling we are referring to when a school may deliver an activity, ‘designing a mock assessment centre programme’ for example, which may require multiple EAs with different skills (e.g. planning, evaluation, design). This would be pooling EAs for an individual institution. The other scenario here would be if the same example above was requested by multiple institutions. Here multiple EAs would be supporting multiple institutions.
What are the different types of matches for EAs?
1-2-1 Match: Those who want to primarily work exclusively and develop a longer-term partnership (12 months or more).
Agile support: Support provided by EAs which includes a clearly defined outcome (using intended outcome field). This is for shorter term projects. We have purposely not defined a minimum timeframe for a project to allow Hub’s flexibility, the ability to make judgements and to harness innovative practice.
Both: This scenario is system generated in EANR and applies to an EA who provides both 1-2-1 support to a specific institution whilst providing ‘agile’ support to another institution.
How do you match a new EA with an institution on a 1-2-1 basis?
On the EA record, there is a section to add the institution URN.. below this there are 2 sections; one for 1-2-1 matching and one for agile matching:
How do you match a new EA on a 1-2-1 basis with one institution and record as providing agile support to another institution?
On the EA record, use the first section to match 1-2-1 and then use the button below to “Add Agile Support” for the secondary institution. When you click on the green buttons, these fields expand so that you can either edit or delete the match.
1-2-1 match:
Agile match:
How do you match a new EA on a 1-2-1 basis and record as providing agile support to multiple institutions?
Please use the same method as above using the “Add Agile Support” option multiple times.
How do you update an EA record currently matched 1-2-1 to providing agile support?
If the EA is no longer 1-2-1 matched and is moving to an agile matched support style, you can add a left date in the 1-2-1 matching section and add a beginning date in the agile support section.
If the agile support is for a separate institution, you will need to “Add an additional institution”, enter their URN in the box provided, and then follow the same process for adding agile support as above.
Who can record and update information on the EA record?
An EA’s respective EC/Sub Contractor and any role higher that would need a view on the data. i.e. Hub Leads, Partner level users and Admin)
How do you select primary and secondary ECs for EA records?
When you click on the ‘Enterprise Co-Ordinators responsible’ drop-down arrow, you can select multiple EC’s to be responsible for the EA record:
Please note: all ECs linked to an EA (primary and secondary) can update the EA record, but the primary EC is the one who may be contacted if there is an issue with the EA record.
How can EC’s access EA match data?
A full history of both 1-2-1 matched and agile support data can be seen on the EA record.
What’s the difference between the ‘date EA matched’ and ‘date agile support matched’?
The ‘Date the EA matched’ is in reference to the date the EA was matched to a single Institution and ‘Date agile support matched’ could have multiple answers as EA’s can provide multiple points of agile support to multiple institutions.
What information will you see on the institution download match information?
Information on the “Matched Information” is:
- URN
- Partner
- Date record was confirmed for
- Enterprise co-ordinator
- Sub Contractor Organisation
- Institution name
- Reason for declining EA support
- Match Type
- Is matched
- Date of match
- Date of agile support
- Type of agile support
If an agile project involves multiple schools within a Hub, what is the best way to report on the different EAs supporting those institutions?
The EA will have an agile support record for each institution they are supporting. Therefor there will be multiple agile support records for the EA.
Overview Statistics reporting on EAs
With reference to the table that you see on the EANR landing page:
Number of EAs currently matched : This includes EAs who are 1-2-1 matched (or 1-2-1 matching and agile support).
Number of EA offering agile support : All EA’s who are offering agile support (or agile support and 1-2-1 matching)
Number of EAs currently matched and offering agile support : This includes EAs matched 1-2-1 but also offering agile support.
Number of EAs not offering support : These are EAs that would have previously been in the unmatched category.
Number of lapsed EAs : These are EAs who have a left date in EANR
What is the best way to record an EA who is volunteering in multiple locations?
The Hub should email Help Desk with a copy of the MOU from the new Hub and the new EC name. The Help Desk will then need to request a Senior Manager within the CEC to approve the request. Once approval is received from the Senior Manager, the work can be completed in EANR to make the EA available in a new Hub.
